I finally indulged and got my new setup straight. Took quite some time to make it perfect. I had to first get a new case for the computer because I couldnt use the liquid cooled case any more (water pump was failing). I went with an Antec p193. But really, the best thing about my new setup is my new monitors and stands :)
I went with Dell 2408′s with A02 firmware. Two of them. I took off the stands and put them on a Dual LX Ergotron monitor arm.
You can see the case on the one below. Much neater and quieter than the Thermaltake Sword. My gaming setup includes a Razer Destructor mouse pad, WoW gaming mouse by Steelseries and a Wolf King gaming keyboard. Sorry about the darkness.. I don’t enjoy having a lot of light in my gaming area.
I have my PS3 hooked up via HDMI onto the 27” Samsung Syncmaster 2693. Seems to look outstanding in 1080p.
Here you can see the arm setup. These were quite annoying to attach to a glass table top. The screws that fasten it on the bottom and keep it still were not catching with the grip cup attached… so really the only thing supporting this is a thick , heavily tightened screw on the bottom. Nonetheless, i have not had any issues with moving the monitors on the arms since theya re about 20lbs each.
Here you can see the single Ergotron LX Monitor Arm used for the PS3 monitor. The mounting bracket you see there had to be custom ordered because the Syncmaster did NOT support VESA mounting.
Also, I may have to go get a monitor calibrator to make the colors 100% identical on each monitor. The whites are slightly off from eachother.
I have mainly created this setup (which wasn’t cheap) to start recording/broadcasting console gameplay. I will begin my video reviews soon as I can get the Intensity Pro HD card to work with vista 64 O.o Anyone got any suggestions on why this card disables my sound card once installed?
